How to Clean Safety Glass in a Shower Screen

Updated February 21, 2017

The safety glass in a shower screen can get covered in fingerprints, soap scum and hard-water deposits. As with mirrors and other similar items, cleaning the shower's safety glass can result in smudges and streaks. However, you don't need to use a commercial liquid cleaner. Two household items can effectively clean the glass without streaking.

Dampen a soft cloth with tap water.

Wipe both sides of the safety glass with the dampened cloth to soften any particles or deposits before cleaning.

Pour two cups of white vinegar into a clean bowl or container.

Dunk two pieces of newspaper in the vinegar. Wring the newspaper out to eliminate excess liquid.

Clean both sides of the safety glass with the soaked newspaper.

Wipe both sides of the safety glass with dry pieces of newspaper or a lint-free cloth to dry the glass without leaving any streaks.

Things You'll Need

  • Soft cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Container/bowl
  • Newspaper pieces
