How Do I Plug a Computer Into a Sharp Aquos LCD TV?

Updated February 21, 2017

The Sharp Aquos LCD TVs offer an easy way to connect your computer to your TV. All you will need is a VGA cable. A VGA cable is the same cable that connects your computer to your printer. You will have an extra VGA port on your computer. You can buy a VGA cable from an electrical store for a reasonable price. You just have to make sure to get a cable long enough to connect your TV to your computer. A good rule of thumb is to always get a cable longer than what you think you need.

Plug your VGA cable into the empty VGA port on your computer. Most VGA cables will have two built-in screws that you can hand tighten to secure the connection.

Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the PC input on the back of your Aquos TV.

Open your computer's projection settings. You can usually access this page by pressing the "F8" button, but some computers are different. Look for the "F" button with the picture of a monitor on it.

Choose to set your projection setting to "Projection." This will send your computer image to your TV screen. You will have the option to view the image only on the TV or both your TV and your computer screen.

Change the input source on your Aquos until you see your computer screen displayed. You will have to put it on the "Component" input channel.
