Computer data storage devices come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from pocket-sized hard drives and keychain USB drives to small Secured Digital (SD) cards, also known as Micro SD cards. Micro SD Cards are pre-formatted, inexpensive and easily transferable to your computer, smartphone, camera or other electronic device. Similar to other data storage devices, Micro SD cards have a unique alphanumeric serial number printed on the storage code. This unique number is printed directly on the code along with the brand name of the Micro SD card.
Remove the Micro SD card from your electronic device (camera, computer or other device), if in the device.
Turn the Micro SD card over so the gold contacts on the card are facing you.
Look at the back of the card. Locate a string of characters consisting of letters and numbers, similar to " 9999nn9999n." This is your Micro SD card's serial number.
Write down the serial number on a piece of paper in case you need the number in the future.
Use a magnifying glass if you can't see small type on the back of the Micro SD card.
