Maglite flashlights are one of the most recognisable names in lighting due to their durability. Maglites are available in sizes that range from a single-cell light all the way up to four-cell light. Other than replacing the batteries, the most common repair for a Maglite is replacing the light bulb, also called the lamp. Luckily, replacing the light bulb is a very easy task and the procedure is the same for almost every brand of Maglite flashlight.

Turn the tail cap of the Maglite, located near the battery compartment, in a counterclockwise direction until the end cap comes loose.
Hold the tail cap between both hands and twist one side in a counterclockwise direction to remove the lamp protector.
Look inside the lamp protector for the spare light bulb that comes with all Maglites. Remove the bulb from the lamp protector.
Reattach the lamp protector to the tail cap by turning it clockwise and then reattach the tail cap to the Maglite.
Unscrew the entire head assembly from the opposite end of the flashlight by turning it counterclockwise.
Remove the retaining collar from the Maglite by turning it in a counterclockwise direction.
Unscrew the light bulb by turning it counterclockwise. Discard the bulb.
Insert new bulb into the Maglite and turn clockwise to secure.
Replace the retaining collar and head gasket.
