Sometimes tiles will need to be cut in order to fit into specific spaces. A manual tile cutter is the recommended tool for the job, as it is specially designed to make these cuts in a precise fashion. This tile cutter is not overly difficult to use, but you may want to practice on a few extra tiles to make sure you get the procedure down. When using a tile cutter, always wear safety goggles, as sometimes debris may fly up and could injure your eyes.

Instructions

  1. 1

Line up the tile cutter with where you want to cut the tile. Use the arrow on the tile cutter to make this alignment.

  2. 2

Place the guide into position and tighten it securely to the tile using the clamp. This will hold the tile in place during the cutting process.

  3. 3

Grip the handle and press the scoring wheel to the tile surface. Push down on the handle and pull it towards you. This will score the entire tile where you want it to be cut.

  4. 4

Push the handle back to the top edge of the tile, then press down firmly. The tile will break according to the line you just scored.
