A personalised wanted poster can be a great gift gag for anyone. And thanks to the Internet, it doesn't take a lot of design skill to create one. There are several places online to where the most you have to do is a little typing and upload a photo to produce a tribute to the dangerous desperado in your own life.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Visit Glass Giant (see Resources), where you can make a wanted poster in 5 minutes or less. Scroll down to the processing area and upload a photo via the "Browse" button. Once you've uploaded the photo, fill in the requested information in the area marked "Name, Reward, Crime and Image Size." Then click "Make Wanted Poster," and the finished product will be displayed at the bottom of the page. The only drawback is that a small watermark is placed on your picture. However, it's not very noticeable.

  2. 2

Consider creating your wanted poster online and having it mailed to you by a company like Wanted5 (see Resources). After creating your own user login and password, you can choose the type of poster you want to create--an original Wild West wanted poster or a modern FBI version, complete with fingerprints. After you choose, the menu will carry you through a series of steps, followed by a lengthy form with all of the details for your poster. Scroll down to the bottom and select the photo you would like to use. Then select "Preview My Poster." The finished product will show up in the next window, giving you the option to save it and order later. Don't try to copy the picture, though: The site has a watermark running directly through it to prevent that tactic.

  3. 3

Create your poster in Microsoft Word. After opening the program, see if you have a Wild West-type font known as Thunderbird. At a font size of 40, type "Wanted" on the screen and centre it. On the next line, specify the "crime" committed. Set the font size to 18 to prevent it from clashing with your "Wanted" heading. Then insert your photo. The following lines will display the recipient's name (also in size 18) and the reward for her capture, which will be in size 40. Once that information is entered, your wanted poster is complete.
