Book covers are commonly used to protect a book from wear and tear by preserving it in mint condition. It is not necessary to purchase fancy book covers, especially if you have several books to cover. Book covers can be made from common paper household items.

Things you need
Choose the type of paper to use; paper bags are used most often.
Find the centre of the paper and the centre of your book with a ruler. Mark where the folds should be on the top and bottom of the paper. Mark the exact measurements on the paper with a pencil.
Cut the paper to these measurements. Trim the right and left edges of the paper if necessary
Check that the left edge of the paper reaches halfway across the inside front cover, and make sure that the right edge covers the same distance on the back cover when the book is closed.
Align the book with the folds. Center the book and fold the left and right edges of the paper over the front and back covers of the book.
Tape the paper on the edges of the book cover by folding the tape into a curl and sliding it under the loops of the book cover so no tape is showing or touching the book.
