Tinychat administrators can and will close rooms where terms of service violations happen, so it is important to keep your room monitored at all times and deal with issues immediately as they arise. Select a few trustworthy people and grant them moderator rights to your room to ensure any TOS violations are dealt with swiftly and your room is protected from closure even when you are not around. You can only grant moderator rights to people who have created a Tinychat account.

Instructions

  1. 1

Click the button that contains your username on the Tinychat website and select "Settings." If you are currently chatting in a room, right-click "Settings" and select "Open in New Tab" or "Open in New Window" to ensure your chat session doesn't get interrupted.

  2. 2

Type the username of the person to whom you want to give moderator powers in the text field located under the "Moderators" header. A person's username is the second part of his unique Tinychat URL.

  3. 3

Click "Add Moderator." The username is added to the list of moderators displayed directly below the text field. Repeat the process with all other people to whom you want to give moderator powers.

Tips and warnings

  • To take away a person's moderator powers, click his username in the list of moderators and then click "OK."
