Whether you want to work outdoors or just enjoy a picnic, bees and wasps can be irritating pests. It is possible to keep bees and wasps away in a natural fashion that does not involve chemicals like DEET.

When you are using natural insect repellent, you will find that it is significantly gentler than using the chemicals found in commercial insect repellents. It is less likely to irritate the skin or to cause an allergic reaction.

Ingredients

The components of a natural bee and wasp repellent include citronella oil, lavender oil, pennyroyal oil, tea tree oil and jojoba oil. You also need a spray bottle.

Method

Mix 14.8ml. citronella oil, 7.39ml. lavender oil, 3.7ml. pennyroyal oil, 3.54gr. tea tree oil and 3.54gr. jojoba oil. Then mix the oils into 454gr. of jojoba oil. You can apply the repellent to your skin the way that you would lotion.
