Vanilla Butter and Nut flavouring is an imitation flavouring designed to imitate the combination of vanilla, butter and almond flavours, a common combination in baking recipes. If a recipe calls for Vanilla Butter and Nut flavouring and you do not have any on hand, you can make a substitution of a combination of all or some of the featured flavourings.

Vanilla Extract

Vanilla extract is a common and versatile flavouring that can be used as a substitution for Vanilla Butter and Nut flavouring in equal amounts. If you happen to also have butter or almond extract on hand, you can also add in small amounts of either or both flavourings to the vanilla to create a homemade version of Vanilla Butter and Nut flavouring.

Almond Extract

Made of a combination of bitter almond oil and ethyl alcohol, almond extract does not taste like actual almonds, but adds a more sweet nutty taste to recipes. Substitute a combination vanilla and almond extract in place of Vanilla Butter and Nut flavouring. Almond extract is extremely potent, so begin with a small amount and a larger amount of vanilla. Add more almond extract if you desire a more nutty taste.

Imitation Butter Flavoring

Imitation butter flavouring simulates the taste of butter in your recipe without you having to add actual butter. If your recipe already calls for real butter, then you can probably leave out the butter flavouring and simply use just vanilla or a combination of vanilla and almond flavourings without overly affecting the taste. If your recipe does not include butter, consider finding a recipe that uses actual butter in place of the butter flavouring.
