First there was the MP3 player. Then came the MP4 and MP5. There's now a new digital player termed the MP6. It is very similar to the players that came before, but there are some differences.

Digital Audio

Like other MP players, the MP6 player plays digital audio files, including the popular MP3 and MP4. The sound quality of the MP6 is the same as that of the MP3, MP4, or MP5.

Digital Video

The MP6 player has the increased capability of being able to play digital video, unlike an MP3 player, although many MP4 players will play video. The video is displayed on an integrated video screen. The size of the screen varies with different players.

Internet Connectivity

Current MP6 players have integrated Internet connectivity allowing downloading and/or playing of digital audio/video files directly into the device without having to first be processed through a computer. For example, YouTube video can be viewed on the device directly from the YouTube website. This is the defining feature of the MP6 versus other digital media players.
