When the facial skin burns, it can be painful and can effect how well you can function throughout the day. In order to relieve the burning sensations on the face, it is important to first know what might be causing the burning skin.

Chemical Burn

Chemical burns can happen on the face when you overuse harsh skincare products, such as creams to fight wrinkles or acne-treatment products. This can cause the skin to burn and to feel tight.

Sun Burn

Sun burns are caused from overexposure to sunlight and ultra violet radiation. This can make the face appear red and inflamed, and can even lead to blistering and skin damage.

Dry Skin

Dry skin can cause a burning sensation on the skin because it causes the skin to crack and peel. This cracking creates tiny fissures on the face that feel like a burn on the skin.

Eczema is an itchy skin condition that can cause a feeling of burning on the skin. Excessive itching of the face due to eczema can cause the skin to split and tear, leading to a burning sensation.

Aggressive Washing

Over-washing the skin, or washing too aggressively, can strip away the natural oils and damage the surface layers of the skin. After washing, the face will feel tight and will burn.
