Banana Dog Treat Recipes

Updated July 05, 2018

Does your dog have a special love for bananas? If so, you should consider making him a batch of banana treats. These treats are easy to make and use ingredients you are sure to already have in your pantry. You can make a large batch all at once, and save the rest in a tin or plastic zipper bag for later use.

Recipe #1

In a large mixing bowl combine two eggs, three cups of oatmeal, one and a quarter cup of flour, a quarter cup of oil, half a cup of nonfat milk, and two bananas. Use a hand mixer to mix all of the ingredients. Pour the batter on a greased pizza pan and bake for 25 minutes at 162 degrees C. Wait for the treats to cool and then cut them in to pizza slices with a pizza cutter. Give one or two to your pup and store the rest in the refrigerator until needed.

Recipe #2

Get out a food processor and add the following ingredients: one banana, half a cup of water, one egg, two tbsp of canola, and two tsp of blackstrap molasses. Process and then pour in to a mixing bowl. Add two cups of whole wheat flour, two cups of barley flour, and half a cup of brown rice flour. Shape into a dough and place on your floured work space area. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a baking tray. Bake for 18 minutes at 176 degrees C. Then lower the heat to 148 degrees C and cook for another half an hour. Take the banana treats out of the oven and let cool.

Recipe #3

Take out a large mixing bowl and add one and a half cups of banana, half a tsp of vanilla, three cups of oats, a quarter of a cup of applesauce, and half a cup of chopped peanuts. Combine with a hand mixer. Take out a baking tray and drop the mixture on the sheet in spoonfuls. Leave an inch in between each spoonful. Bake at 176 degrees Cor 15 minutes.
