Pruning chili pepper plants involves cutting off and removing excess branches and stems. Prune chili pepper plants to encourage new growth with help from an outdoor gardening professional in this free video clip.
Hi, I'm Tamara from Sunland Hydroponics, and today I'll be showing you how to prune your chili pepper plants. I'm going to take some pruning shears, the more you prune, the more it starts growing, the more it reaches up for the light and gets taller, blooms more. The way we want to do it is counting three plant stems down from the top, so you count one, two, this would be the third one, and you could prune everything else from under that. Now, we've cut off the first one, and we can go ahead and prune the rest of the stems in order for the rest of the leaves to catch more sunlight, and I could go ahead and prune the rest down here. It will be ready to catch more light indoor or outdoor. I'm Tamara from Sunland Hydroponics, and that's how you prune chili pepper plants.
