Hi, I'm Teresa Neumann and I'm here today to show you how to put a shoulder rest on a violin. there are different types of shoulder rests. This one just so that you know is a Kun shoulder rest and I like it because of how it fits on my shoulder. It has a cushion on the bottom to rest it on and that just helps keep it up off of your shoulder. Shoulder rests are important also; they never used to use shoulder rests hundreds of years ago, but it helps because it actually lifts the violin up off of your shoulder so that you're not, your neck isn't bent down so much. And what you do is, it has, most of the shoulder rests have a little clip on the end. You start on one side and simply put it next to the violin and then you pull it around and you stretch it just a little bit to come over the side and that's it.
