Hi, this is Deborah Quinn with Pastry Swan Bakery in Palm Dessert, California, today we're going to show you how to make some cake decorations for a First Communion. Alright, so what we have here is, we're going to do a First Communion, make it very simple. What we've done is, made a little bible out of a European Fondant. And how we started that was, we just took a square piece of fondant and then we made some small pieces on top of there on both sides. So this is actually just two pieces of square fondant, a little bit thicker, and we set those right on top of the background. So this was the background page. And basically when it's soft, you just take a knife and just gently push in on the sides, will give it that nice page look on there. And we have a little bit of a gold color here, it's made with a gold powder, a little bit of a alcohol. And I'm going to just basically take a brush and we're going to brush the pages gold. You can do a silver or gold, sometimes even just an ivory is nice, but the gold really makes a difference. So a first communion, sometimes a little process that you can make out of your fondant to add to this. But just a little bit of floral around this bible will make it a very nice First Communion. So it's basically just placing that on there, you can put your message right on the bible. Sometimes, God Bless, with the child's name is great for a Baptism or a First Communion. Add a little bit of color, whether it be a female or a male, it'll be beautiful. And those were ideas for how to make cake decorations for a First Communion, this is Pastry Swan Bakery.
