Hi I'm Gretchen Rivas with Relax to the Max Massage Therapy and today we are going to be talking about how to give a boy a massage. Now most of the time when you are giving a massage you want to be working with somebody on a massage table but since not everybody has a massage table I thought I would give you a few tips on how to massage somebody from a different angle. Most of the time when I will be working I will be coming from this angle and I'm working on the table but if you don't have a table and you want to work on somebody's back you can work on them if you straddle their leg like this and then lean over them and put some oil on you can rub their back like this and the main thing you want to keep in mind is that you don't want to rub right on the spine and make sure your fingers go on each side of the spine and not on the bone itself. The same for working around the shoulder blades, you don't want to rub right on the bone, you want to rub around the bone on the edges because that feels really good so you can work that area right there and then go sideways like this against the opposite way of the muscle fibers. That feels really nice and you can always work through the sheet like this and work on the legs a little bit when you are giving a massage. A lot of times just kneading and squeezing can release a lot of muscle tension in the body and then a nice long soothing smoothing strokes feel really good too and that's how to give a boy a massage.
