814F Series Two-Wheel Dozer

The 814F is one of Cat's medium-wheel dozers. It has a fixed front axle and an oscillating rear axle. The engine is a six-cylinder Cat C9 Acert with a net and flywheel power of 232 horsepower. Gross power for this model is 253 horsepower, while the EEC 80/1269 and ISO 9249 net power come in at 235 horsepower. SAE J1349 net power is rated at 232 horsepower. Bore and stroke are 4.4 inches and 5.9 inches, respectively. The transmission offers four forward and four reverse speeds, ranging from 3.6 miles per hour to 21.8mph. Gross power comes in at 554 horsepower, and the operating weight is 47105 Kilogram. The transmission offers four forward and three reverse speeds, ranging from 4.2 to 23.9mph in both direct and converter drive.

It has four blades: straight, universal, coal and semi-U, which range from a capacity of 10.33 cubic yards to 29 cubic yards. Measurements are 16.65 by 4.79 by 1.75 (straight blade); 16.9 by 4.79 by 1.72 feet (universal blade); 18.62 by 6.41 by 1.52 feet (coal); and 15.38 by 5.84 by 1.66 feet (semi-U).

854K Large-Wheel Dozer

One of two large-wheel dozers in Cat's line, the 854K offers the Cat C32 Acert engine that produces a gross power of 904 horsepower. Bore and stroke are 5.7 and 6.4 inches, respectively, with a displacement of 1,959 cubic inches. Net torque comes in at 3,129 foot-pounds with a torque rise of 30-per cent. It also has a fixed front axle and an oscillating rear axle (plus or minus 10 degrees). The operating weight for this model is 98100 Kilogram.

The transmission offers three forward and reverse speeds in both converter and direct drives, ranging from 4.4 to 15.6 miles-per-hour. The blade capacities range from 33 to 58 cubic yards.

844H Large-Wheel Dozer

The largest of Cat's dozers (as of November, 2010), the 844H weighs in at 7081kg (operating weight) and offers the 12-cylinder Cat C27 ACERT engine. Gross power is 687 horsepower with net and flywheel powers of 627 horsepower. Bore and stroke for this model are 5.4 and 6 inches, respectively, with a displacement of 1,666 cubic inches.

The transmission offers three forward and three reverse speeds for both converter and direct drives, ranging from 4.4 to 15.4 miles-per-hour. The blade capacities for the 844H are 20.7 to 40.2 cubic yards.
