There's nothing better for a diehard grill master than having the chance to grill inside year round. If the weather isn't appealing for outdoors grilling or if it's too much work to bring out the barbecue during the winter months, consider purchasing an indoor grill that will give you the same tasting food that you would get from your outside grill.

Smokeless Indoor Grills

The smokeless indoor barbecue grill by Sanyo was rated best overall and best value by the Wall Street Journal in 2005. With it's powerful 1300-watt heating element, this extra large 200-square-inch indoor barbecue grill provides a great alternative to grilling outside. The non-stick grill top allows fats from certain foods to drain off into a removable dripping pan, resulting in healthier foods. The dripping pan, handles and base are all dishwasher safe. At the time of publication, the average cost for this grill was £39. The DeLonghi grill and smokeless broiler includes a grill plate that has heating elements allowing foods to cook evenly. The smokeless broiling drawer allows cooking on two-tiers of the grill. At the time of publication, this grill was sold for around £97.

Range Top Grills

The Minden Master Range top grill provides opportunities for grilling inside year round. This grill won a first place Gourmet Gold Award in August of 2009 at the Gourmet Housewares Show in San Francisco. The grill is round and designed to sit directly over the burners on your stove, cooking your meat evenly. Included with the grill is a heat shield that helps evenly cook foods and prevent flare-ups by deflecting any grease that drains into a trough. At the time of publication, the grill retailed for £64. The Chefmaster Smokeless indoor hob barbecue grill works on a gas, electric or propane stove. The grill is designed with an outer ring for water that collects grease and fat from grilled foods, which helps reduce splatter. This grill is not for use on glass top stoves. This grill was sold for approximately £10, at the time of publication.

The Griddler by Cuisinart is a multifunctional grill with capabilities of cooking foods such as pancakes, hot dogs, steaks and grilled cheese. Indoor/Outdoor Electronic Dome Grills

George Foreman designed two indoor/outdoor electric dome grills. The first grill allows you to grill dinner for your family on a 200-square inch surface. The second grill has a 240-square inch cooking surface. Both grills are round and allows food to be cooked either indoors or outdoors. These grills are perfect for those who are not allowed to have a propane or charcoal grill. Grilling can occur on a stand, which can be purchased along with the grill or on a table top. Temperature controls ensure that foods are being cooked evenly and a high-domed lid provides convectional grilling options. A centre channel drains fat and grease for healthier foods.
