Cats with too much energy can get into trouble around the house, hurt themselves, and scare any guests that you have over. If your cat is extremely energetic, there are many different things that you can do to expend her energy in a positive way.

Skill level:
Moderately Challenging

  1. 1

Get another cat for your hyper cat to play with. Having a friend to run around the house with, and play games with all day will bring your cat's energy level down a few notches. He will sleep soundly at night if he tires himself out during the day.

  2. 2

Purchase toys for her that tire her out, and help her play with them. Look for things that she can chase around and jump up and bat at, as these are positive ways for her to expend some of her energy.

  3. 3

Buy a cat tree or a few different cat tree, for him to play on. If he likes to look out the window, place it near one so he can climb up his tree and see what's going on outside. This will give him something to do, and climbing up and down the cat tour will tire him out.

  4. 4

Place dry cat food in a toy meant to hold cat food. Give her the toy at dinner time and make her work for her food. If she's hungry she'll work hard to get it out of the toy, which will expend a lot of her energy, and tire her out.
