How to Send Gmail to OneNote

Microsoft OneNote is a resourceful software program that lets computer users quickly and conveniently save notes from the Web, the Outlook e-mail client and other Microsoft products. Unfortunately, Gmail users cannot send e-mails directly to OneNote. The Gmail web interface is not compatible with the OneNote. However, there is a workable solution which requires you have Microsoft Outlook installed. If you do, then you can add your Gmail account and send e-mails from within the program to OneNote.

Instructions

    Add Gmail to Outlook

    Log in to your Gmail account. Click the "Gear" icon at the upper right corner. Select "Mail settings."

    Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab. Under the "POP Download" section, select "Enable POP for all mail." Click "Save Changes." Additionally, you may want to select "Enable IMAP" from the "IMAP Access" section.

    Launch Microsoft Outlook and go to the "Tools" menu. Select "Account Settings."

    Click "New" and on the next page select "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP." Click the "Next" button to continue.

    Type your name, e-mail address and password, then click "Next." Click "Next." Click the "Finish" button to add the Gmail account.

    Send Outlook Mail to OneNote

    Open Microsoft Outlook and click the message you want to send.

    Select the "Home" menu from the top toolbar. Click the "OneNote" option under the "Move" sub-menu.

    Choose the note location from the "Select Location in OneNote" dialogue window. Click "OK" to send. Additionally, you can select the check box for "Always send e-mail notes to the selected location" if you will be using this same OneNote location for future Outlook e-mails.

    Open Microsoft OneNote. Navigate to the note location to verify and view the email message.
