The iPad is available in two models as of the time of publication. The basic iPad connects to the Internet over Wi-Fi, and the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G connects with Wi-Fi or via your service provider's cellular data network. You can surf the Web with the iPad's Safari app, and check, send and compose e-mail messages using the Mail app. When you're done using Mail on the iPad, you can easily exit the app, but because the iPad can multitask, apps continue to run quietly in the background. Quit any app running in the background to free up memory or processing power.
