How to Wire a Spotlight on a Car

Updated April 17, 2017

Car spotlights can be used, either by the driver or a passenger. This is especially useful at night, when the spotlight can illuminate things that headlights may not be able to. Since most spotlights can be powered by the vehicle's cigarette lighter, installing and using the spotlight is a simple process.

Connect your spotlight's power cord to an available cigarette lighter port in your car.

Point the spotlight out of your car's side window.

Press the "power" button on your spotlight to turn it on. The spotlight is now installed and operational.
