How to Attach an Air Vent Cover to a Wall

Updated July 20, 2017

Depending on the type of heating and cooling system running throughout your home, air vents provide air flow into the room in the form of air conditioning or heat. These vents are covered to help prevent dust and other particles from getting through the heating and cooling system. Vent covers come in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles. This helps them blend in with the room's decor.

Measure the vent opening you wish to cover. Measure the length and width of the vent and purchase a cover that will fit the dimensions.

Place the vent cover over the vent opening and push the vent into place. If you measured correctly, the vent cover should fit snugly into the vent opening.

Screw the vent cover into the wall, using the provided screws.
