How to Reset the Maintenance Message on a Mercedes

Updated February 21, 2017

Many Mercedes-Benz models are equipped with a maintenance reminder system that triggers a maintenance message on the control panel when it is time for regular service. The computer within the vehicle tracks driving conditions to determine when service should be performed. A Mercedes-Benz mechanic will reset the maintenance system when service is performed at the dealer. If the mechanic does not reset the system, you can manually reset the system and turn off the message yourself.

Press and hold the trip meter reset button.

Turn the ignition switch on. Do not start the engine.

Release the trip meter reset button after the maintenance message resets. Turn the ignition off.
