A wide variety of homemade purges for clogged pores exists, but using an egg mask can be one of the more gentle ways to treat problem skin. The egg in this recipe will soften the skin and help draw impurities out of the pores. Honey has some antimicrobial properties and the lactic acid in the milk helps to exfoliate. It is important to know whether or not you are allergic to milk or raw egg prior to using this technique; bad reactions are not common, but they are painful and will require a doctor's care.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Honey
- 1 tablespoon milk or yoghurt
- Small bowl
Mix the ingredients. Begin by beating the egg in a small bowl. You may use the whole egg or the egg white only. Beat in the honey and the milk or yoghurt.
Treat your skin. Use a towel to protect your neck and chest and a headband to pull back your hair. Spread the mixture over your face with your hands and let it dry completely. This can take between 10 and 20 minutes. Be careful to avoid the eye and mouth areas.
Peel off. Most masks will peel off with ease, but if you're having difficulty, use a damp washcloth to gently remove the mask. After removal, rinse your face with warm water.
