How to Reset a Dell PP18L Laptop Without an Administrator Pass

The PP18L is a sub-model of D620 laptop manufactured by Dell. You might want to reset your PP18L if the computer becomes unresponsive or if you experience problems with particular applications. Resetting the system does not require an administrator password and is the first thing to try when troubleshooting your laptop computer. You should allow approximately five minutes to reset your Dell PP18L laptop and restart the computer.

    Click the "Start" button in the bottom left of the screen.

    Select "Restart." The computer will reset and power up.

    Locate the power button above the keyboard, in the centre of the laptop.

    Press and hold the power button for 8 to 10 seconds.

    Wait as the computer resets and loads Windows.
