Xubuntu is a freely distributed, Linux-based operating system. Security updates for Xubuntu are released at least every 18 months and it comes preinstalled with word processing, e-mail and web server applications. Unlike other Linux-based operating systems, you cannot enable remote desktop sharing by accessing the preference in the system menu. Instead, use "vino," a Virtual Network Computing, or VNC, application native to Xubuntu.
