How to Reset an IP4200

You can customise many settings on your Canon PIXMA IP4200 printer. Along with the customisation options, you can reset the printer to the factory settings and clear the ink cartridge monitoring. Your first instinct may be to call a service technician if you choose to reset the printer to the factory defaults, but you can save yourself a costly repair bill by resetting it yourself. Your printer will be up and running in minutes.

Turn the power off to your IP4200. Press and hold the "Resume/Cancel" button. Press and hold the "Power" button.

Release the "Resume/Cancel" button. Press and release the "Resume/Cancel" button twice. Release the "Power" button after the second time.

Press and release the "Resume/Cancel" button three times in quick succession. Press and release the "Power" button to force the system reset.
