Most countries have their own currency, so when you travel there, you must exchange your money. Currency-exchange rates are constantly changing, so if you want to convert one currency to another, you’ll need the most up-to-date conversion rate. You can convert nearly any currency to another using various online currency sites, which use the current conversion data. The British pound (GBP) is the currency for the United Kingdom, while the dinar is the official currency for many countries, including Iraq, Serbia and Libya. When you convert pounds to dinars, you need to specify which country you are interested in.

Tips and warnings

  • While you can convert currency at home, physically exchanging your money is best done in the foreign country you are visiting. There are various options, such as in the airport or hotel, but an ATM or bank branch is going to have the best conversion rate. Find a local bank to do the conversion so you don’t have to pay extra charges at an ATM.
