How to Create a Mileage Expense Sheet in Excel

If you need to be reimbursed for your gas mileage costs, you can keep track of your expenses by using a Microsoft Excel template. It takes little time to create a mileage expense worksheet in Excel when you use one of the mileage expense templates available. The templates are available through Microsoft Office Online, which you can access by opening Excel.

Open Excel and click the Office button. The "New Workbook" window will open. You can create a new workbook or select a Microsoft Office Online template here.

Type "mileage" in the Microsoft Office Online search bar and press the "Enter" key. A list of mileage expense templates will open.

Click a mileage expense template to preview it. After you find one you like, select the template and click the "Download" button. The mileage expense template will open in a new workbook.

Remove the sample data from the mileage expense sheet and enter your records.

Click the Office button and select "Save As" when the menu opens. Enter a name for the mileage expense worksheet and click "Save."
