How to Make a Conservation Area in Zoo Tycoon 2

Updated April 17, 2017

One of the many expansion packs to "Zoo Tycoon 2" is "Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species." This expansion pack gives players many new animals to place in their zoos, many of which are either extinct or presently endangered. In addition to the new animals, this expansion pack also allows players to create conservation areas to protect their animals. While you don't have any say in where these areas are, there is a lot you can do to make sure they serve a purpose.

Locate the Conservation Area. These are different from play area to play area, but do not change, so once you remember where one is on a particular map, it will be there every time you play said map.

Drop animals into the conservation area.

Leave food for the animals in the conservation area. This is so that they don't die off and your patrons can continue to enjoy the sights of rare animals in a close-to-lifelike habitat.

Tip

Use the conservation areas for rare animals. This way they won't break free and raise hell throughout the park, and the money that they can bring in is a welcome bonus.
