## Instructions

- 1
Find out the land dimensions from legal property documents or elsewhere.

- 2
Convert the land length and width into feet. Note that the land size might be given in yards or meters. If the length and width are measured in yards, multiply the values by 3. If the land size is given in meters, multiply the numbers by the factor 3.280839895. For example, a piece of land that is 570 yards in length and 320 yards in width would be converted to 1,710 (570 x 3) and 960 (320 x 3) feet, respectively.

- 3
Multiply the land length by its width to calculate the area in square feet. In our example, the land area is 1,710 x 960 or 1,641,600 square feet.

- 4
Divide the land area in square feet by 43,560 to calculate the acres. In our example, 1,641,600 / 43,560 = 37.69 acres. Note that the result is rounded to hundredth.
