Dandelion weeds, scientifically known as Taraxacum officinale, are hard to rid from your lawn. Not only do they have a long tap root that goes 10 inches deep, but they are also masters at propagating themselves throughout the lawn. Though commercial weed eaters and regular lawn mowing helps in getting rid of dandelions, they can also be tackled with several simple home remedies.

- Spray bottle
Spray undiluted vinegar directly onto the dandelions. Watch them die naturally in a few hours to a couple of days. Consider buying vinegar with higher concentration of acetic acid.
Alternatively, boil vinegar on your stove. Pour it into a spray bottle and spray onto the dandelions. The boiled vinegar increases the concentration of acetic acid which is useful in killing the weeds.
Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of salt on the dandelions. After a couple of days, they should die naturally. Clear your lawn of the dead dandelions. Be careful not sprinkle salt on other plants in the lawn as too much of salt could kill them.
Get chickens and allow them on your lawn. They will feed on the yellow weeds, clearing your lawn naturally and easily.
