How to Make a Wanted Poster With Your Own Pictures

A party invitation, a practical joke or a funny, framed gift are all creative reasons to make a wanted poster. Text and photos can be exchanged with a few clicks to make posters about pets, friends, enemies or yourself.

Instructions

    Go to the website html://www.studentposters.co.uk/templates.html in your Web browser.

    Click on the "Wanted Poster Template" at the bottom of the page for "Word." This will download the template to your computer.

    Open the wanted poster template.

    Click your mouse anywhere over the "For (Your Copy Here)." This will show a box indicating this text has been selected. Type the reason for the warrant here. Example: Robbing a Bank.

    Click your mouse anywhere over the "Wanted Name Here" text. This will show a box indicating this text has been selected. Type your name here.

    Click the mouse anywhere over the "Your Copy Here" text at the bottom of the poster. This will show a box indicating this text has been selected. Type the amount of the reward here. Example: £6,500.

    Click on the mouse anywhere over the "studentposters.co.uk" and click the "delete" button on your keyboard.

    Find the photo you'd like to use on your computer. If it's not on the computer already, scan a photo and crop it to size. Double click on the image file to open the photo in a photo-viewing software program, such as "Microsoft Office Manager."

    Right-click on the image and click "Copy." Paste the image into the wanted poster template Word document. Click on the picture inside the document and make sure the photo is selected. Right-click the photo and select "Format Picture." Click the "Layout Tab" and select "In Front of Text."

    Use the white dots on the corners of the photo to size the photo to the appropriate size for the wanted poster. Move the photo with your cursor over the donkey photo in the template. The photo should cover the entire donkey photo.

    Click "File" and "Save" at the top left-hand corner of the document. E-mail or print the wanted poster as desired.

Tips and warnings

  • Crop and edit your photo beforehand using Adobe Photoshop or a similar photo-editing software.
  • Your document will be editable by others if e-mailed. To ensure it's not, convert the document to .PDF format before sending it to friends.
