How to microwave burgers

Updated February 21, 2017

When cooking hamburgers in a microwave oven, use a microwave browning grill for best results. A browning grill is a plate that's specially designed for browning meat in microwave ovens. The grill is preheated in the microwave oven, and when meat is placed on the grill, the hot surface of the plate helps to brown the meat.

Preheat the microwave browning grill. Put the grill in the microwave oven and cook on high for about seven minutes, or according to the instructions on your microwave browning grill.

Form the hamburger into four evenly sized patties, each about a half-inch thick.

Do not remove the browning grill from the microwave oven. Arrange the burger patties on the heated microwave browning gill inside the oven, and close the door.

Cook for three minutes.

Turn the burger patties over and cook for two to three more minutes, depending on how well-done you want them.

Be careful handling the heated browning grill, as it gets very hot.
