Things you need
- Barbed wire
- Claw hammer
Fences can be made of large rocks. Overlap the rocks over each other across your property line up to the desired height.
Barbed wire is cheap and keeps cattle penned in. Use your sledgehammer to drive posts into the ground. Put on thick gloves, then string the barbed wire between each post. Wrap the wire around each post to keep it in place.
If you live in a suburban area, convince your neighbour to split the costs of a fence with you. Emphasise the benefits he will receive by fencing in the common border you share.
Request old fencing at construction sites.
Plant trees to create a cheap, natural fence. Choose trees that will have canopies of the desired thickness. Decide if you want to put ferns or other plants between the trees to make it harder to pass over your property line. You can also use the trees as fence posts.
