Easy way of putting contact lenses in small eyes
Putting in contacts can pose a bit of a challenge for anyone, especially those with smaller eyes. With a little practice though, anyone can become adept at inserting contact lenses. There are a few simple guidelines to give those with smaller eyes an easier time of it.
Make sure to wash your hands with soap and water before handling the contacts. Sit in front of a mirror in a well-lit room. You may want to use a special make-up mirror with magnifying effects for a close-up view.
Inserting Your Contact Lenses
Put one lens on the tip of your right index finger with the edges turned up. If the edges are turned outward, the contact is inside out and should be flipped before insertion. Don't let any of the edges stick to your finger. Raise your upper eyelid with one or two fingers from your left hand and pull down the lower lid with the middle finger of your right hand for maximum exposed eye-surface area. Staring straight ahead into the mirror, approach the eye with the lens and gently place it on the eye. Remove your right index finger and keep holding the lids open, making sure the contact has stuck to your eye. Slowly release the lids and blink to centre the lens. Do the same with the second lens.
An alternate technique would be to hold the top eyelid up and rest the edge of the lens inside of the lower lid with the lens slanting out slightly. Look down, forcing the lens to move right into the eye.
