Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to show you the best way to restore leather. If you have an old leather jacket or even the leather seats in your car, maybe, the first thing that you want to do is condition the leather really well. The biggest problem with leather, the reason that it cracks, you know, gets discolored and everything is, it looses it's moisture. So you want to buy a leather conditioner. This one is actually made for horse tack, like saddles and bridles, but it works really well on any kind of leather. And you can find this at, you know, shoe stores, really anywhere. Just find a good leather conditioner. You want to open it up, and get some on the end of a cloth. And just rub it onto the leather, just like, I mean this used to be on an animal, so do it just like you're putting lotion on a cow, I guess. You know, just rub it in. Make sure to do it all over the leather, and you may need to repeat this ten times if you have a piece of leather that's been sitting in your closet for ten years. If it's that dried out, you may have to do this over and over and over again. Once you're done, if you have any tears or deep scratches or cracks in the leather that look discolored, you can take....whatever color the leather is, if you can find shoe polish that is that same color and just go over the cracks or the tears, it'll help camouflage those, you know, those discolorations. I am Rachel Yatuzis, and that is how you restore leather.
