French doors can be an elegant addition to a home. The double doors can be romantic and dramatic and French doors with glass panels can let in a lot of natural light. For times when you want to to either filter the sunlight or maintain privacy, there is a variety of window treatments to choose from.

Roman Blinds

Roman blinds suit the design of French doors, which allows the fabric of Roman blinds to gather at the top of the window when the blinds are pulled. This creates graceful folds which complement the elegant design of many French doors. The flat panels of lowered Roman blinds conceal the glass of the windows with a sleek, understated simplicity. Roman shades can be custom-made from virtually any fabric, from light, airy fabrics that gently filter light to heavy fabrics that add colour and provide privacy.

Bamboo Blinds

Bamboo blinds are both decorative and functional. They are easy to operate and can give a room a natural, rustic feel. Bamboo blinds are available in a range of wood tones and can match a variety of interior styles. Bamboo blinds are popular in styles ranging from traditional to modern, can provide a desirable balance between privacy and visibility, and are easy to clean with a wipe from a damp cloth.

Fabric Door Panels

Fabric door panels are a most common treatment for French doors. Fabric cut to the width of the glass panels is installed on rods at the top and bottom of the panel. The fabric can be gathered in the middle and held with a decorative tie to allow light in; the tie can be removed and the fabric allowed to cover the glass for privacy.
