How to Put a Star on Your Keyboard

There are several buttons you will need to press together to a make a star symbol on your keyboard. The star symbol is formed by a code called an "Alt code" because it involves pressing the "Alt" button. You can memorise this code to quickly insert stars into your Microsoft Word document.

  1. Open a Microsoft Word document by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop.

  2. Press down your "Alt" key and do not release it.

  3. Press "0, 7, 2." A star will appear in you Word document.

  4. Warning

    You must have Dingbats font installed on your computer for the star "Alt code" to work.
