Brita manufacturers a complete line of faucet and pitcher water filtration units. Each of the units uses a filter to remove harmful chemicals and bacteria from your tap water. The filters require replacement every two months on average, depending on your use. Each filtration unit uses an indicator to let you know when it is time to change the filter. The faucet filtration systems automatically reset when you install a new filter. The pitcher models, on the other hand, have either an electronic reminder or a date reminder that you must reset once you install the new filter.

Press and hold the "Start" button on the top of the electronic filter change indicator.
Continue holding the button and watch for a flashing indicator light near the lower left corner of the display screen. This indicates that the display is resetting.
Wait for the four bars to appear in the display screen. Once the fourth bar illuminates and begins to flash, release the "Start" button.
Rotate the dials on the Calendar Minder with your finger to display a date two months in advance of the filter change date, if you do not have an electronic filter indicator. This serves as your reminder to change the filter.
TIP
Reset the filter once you have flushed and fully installed the new one.
