The Fiat Grande Punto was first released for the 2005 model year. Each Grande Punto is equipped with a maintenance reminder system that illuminates a service message on the instrument cluster when the system has determined that it's time for regular maintenance. After the maintenance is performed, the service indicator needs to be reset so the computer can track when the next service is due. A Fiat dealer will reset the service indicator if it performs the maintenance. If you do the maintenance yourself, you can reset the light manually.
Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position without starting the engine.
Press the odometer reset button repeatedly until the total mileage is displayed.
Turn the ignition switch to "Off."
Press and hold the trip odometer reset button.
Turn the ignition switch to "On." Do not start the engine.
Release the trip odometer reset button after the service display counts down from 10 to 0 and the service light resets.
