How to Read the Manufacturer's Code on a Bosch Dishwasher for Age
Every appliance manufactured by Bosch is given a unique serial number. The serial number is used to identify a specific appliance, and provides information such as the month and year in which the appliance was assembled.
The manufacturer also uses the serial number to keep track of warranty and repair history for the appliance. On a Bosch dishwasher, the serial number can be found on a sticker inside the top of the dishwasher door, on the right-hand side.
Locate the serial number on the label of the dishwasher. The serial number will begin with the characters "FD" and is below the model number.
Locate the fourth character in the series. This number represents the year in which the dishwasher was manufactured. For instance, an appliance bearing a serial number of "FD85085564" was manufactured in 2005.
Locate the 5th and 6th characters in the serial number. These numbers represent the month in which the dishwasher was manufactured. For instance, an appliance bearing a serial number of "FD85085564" was manufactured in August of 2005.
