How to Clean Gas Cooker Rings

Updated February 21, 2017

A gas cooker, also called a gas range, is a common household appliance used to cook food. If you have a gas cooker in your home, you should be familiar with the basic maintenance and cleaning techniques needed to keep it functioning properly. When you keep kitchen appliances clean and well maintained, they are more likely to last longer. The rings, also called burners, on your gas cooker may need to be cleaned often.

  1. Remove the rings from your gas cooker. They should lift off easily.

  2. Place the rings in a sink filled with hot soapy water.

  3. Scrub the gas cooker rings with a nonabrasive pad. This will remove most of the grease and grime.

  4. Lift the rings out of the water, and sprinkle them with baking soda. The baking soda will form a paste. Use the paste to continue scrubbing the gas cooker rings until all the dirt and grime is removed.

  5. Rinse the rings thoroughly with warm water, and dry them with a dish towel.

  6. Place the rings back on your gas range once they are completely dry.
