How to Transfer Money From My Bank Account to PayPal

PayPal is a popular and safe method of completing financial transactions over the Web. Payments can be made using a credit or debit card, or you can transfer money from your bank account to PayPal. Adding funds to your PayPal account directly from your bank account allows you to maintain a pool of money for online shopping or other payments. The process is simple to complete through the PayPal website.

  1. Log into the PayPal website using your account e-mail address and password.

  2. Click on the link labelled "Add Funds."

  3. Click on the link labelled "Add funds from a U.S. bank account."

  4. Select the bank account you wish to use to transfer funds from the drop-down menu and enter your desired amount of money in the field below. Click "Continue."

  5. Review the information you have entered on the confirmation screen. If everything is correct, click the "Submit" button to complete the transaction.

  6. Wait for the money to appear in your PayPal balance. According to the PayPal Help Center, the transfer will take between three and four business days to process.

  7. Tip

    If you have not yet added a bank account to your PayPal profile, mouse over the "Profile" link on the main screen and click on "Add or Edit Bank Account." Follow the onscreen instructions to add an account; then you will be able to transfer funds from that account to PayPal.
