Updated February 21, 2017

Eggs have been used for centuries to tame and moisturise hair, as well as to help tone and moisturise the skin. It may seem strange to put egg on your face or hair the first time you do it, but the effects that you get from using egg on your skin and hair will be fabulous. You can use any type of eggs, including organic. Here is how to moisturise your hair and skin using eggs.

  1. Use an egg hair mask. Break 3 eggs into a bowl and mix thoroughly with a whisk. Apply the eggs to your hair using your hands. Make sure that you coat the hair evenly. Let the eggs dry completely on your hair. Wash your hair with warm to cool water and shampoo. Your hair will be shiny and soft to the touch.

  2. Use an egg yolk facial mask. Separate 1 egg, keeping the yolk. Beat the egg yolk in a bowl using a whisk until it is frothy. Using a cotton pad, apply the egg yolk to the face, covering all of the skin surfaces. Let the egg yolk dry completely. Wash the egg yolk off using soap and warm to cool water. Your skin will be tighter and softer.

  3. Use an egg yolk scalp cleanser. Break 3 egg yolks into a bowl and whisk them well. Using your hands, scoop the egg yolks onto the scalp and massage it in. Let the egg yolks dry completely, and wash out with shampoo and warm to cool water. The egg yolk will nourish the scalp and moisturise any scalp dryness or dandruff.

  4. Warning

Do not use eggs on your skin or hair if you have an egg allergy.
