Low-fat morning pumpkin breakfast shake

As the evenings close in it’s often tempting to slip into your PJs, pop on the telly and eat yourself silly until March.

Now, I’m all for eating myself silly now and then but this low-fat morning pumpkin shake will help keep you looking and feeling Beyonce good (or as close to it as humanly possible).

Using seasonal pumpkin in your morning shake is a great low-fat way to give you the boost you need. You should make the preparations for this shake the night before you want to drink it!

If you can’t get canned pumpkin puree and want to make this even healthier then it’s really easy to make at home. Here’s how!

Ingredients

A quarter of a can of pumpkin puree (or get the video recipe here)
200ml Low fat milk
45 Grams (half cup) of rolled oats
1/2 frozen or chilled banana
1 tbsp. of honey
A little cinnamon to garnish
3/4 tsp. pumpkin spice

Method

1. In a food blender (or alternatively use a large bowl to whisk) mix together the puree, spice and milk.

2. Throw in the rolled oats and store in the fridge overnight.

3. When you wake up place the banana and mix in a food blender and mix until smooth.

4. Add the honey and cinnamon to taste.
