The Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Drive watch offers a multifunctional timepiece that uses a solar cell to convert light into electrical energy. The cell, embedded in the dial, drives the hour, minute and second hands, chronograph, alarm, timer and other functions. Fully charged, the Skyhawk Eco-Drive shifts into a power save mode to conserve energy in lowlight or dark conditions. It can operate in power save mode for months.
The Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Drive features a full calendar that also includes the name of the major city closest to where the wearer lives. It has daylight savings time capabilities and a chronograph that measures the hours, minutes, seconds and 1/100th of a second. It also features multiple time zones, three alarm functions, rechargeable battery, insufficient charging warning function and an overcharging prevention mechanism.
Setting the Watch
The Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Dive features two function buttons at 2 and 4 o'clock on the case edge in addition to the crown at 3 o'clock. Pulling the crown out to the first position allows the owner to change the digital time zone display at 8 o'clock on the dial. Pulling the crown out all the way out and rotating it clockwise will change the time, correct the date and change the alarm times.
Begin using the basic button functions by pressing the 2 o'clock button once to start and stop the chronograph's stopwatch. The 4 o'clock button resets the stopwatch and can switch the alarm off and on. Use the buttons in combination with rotating the crown for other functions, according to Citizen Watch Company.
Set the chronograph by rotating the crown. This sets the different modes for the calendar, alarms, time zone settings and timer. Rotating the crown changes the mode hand located on the dial at the 6 o'clock position. Turn the crown until the hands reaches "CHR" for chronograph. Press the 2 o'clock button until "HR" flashes in the digital display window and then set it. Press the 2 o'clock button again until "MIN" is displayed for the minutes. Set the minute hand and then press the 2 o'clock button again until "SEC" appears to set the seconds. This sets the hands on the subdials and the digital display time.
The time zone functions on a Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Dive watch differ from other chronograph brands because the Skyhawk offers digital displays with instructions using a combination of rotating the crown and pressing the 2 and 4 o'clock buttons. The Skyhawk allows the owner to set one of the 29 time zones to local time by turning the crown clockwise, setting the hand mode to "TIME" for time and "CAL" for calendar. Press the 2 o'clock button once for each major city that scrolls through the digital display window until the desired city is located. Once the city is located, press the 4 o'clock button to bring up the appropriate time and dates of the major cities.
