How to Use a Twist Board

Core muscles are engaged from the moment you wake up to the moment you fall asleep. The simplest activities use your core muscles. Walking, lifting and cleaning the dishes are all examples of activities that use the core muscles. It's important that these muscles stay strong so the rest of your body will function properly. The Twist Board is a piece of exercise equipment that will help build and maintain strength in your core.

  • Light medicine ball

Instructions

    Without a Medicine Ball

  1. 1

    Stand on the Twist Board with your feet side by side.

  2. 2

    Bend your knees 45 degrees.

  3. 3

    Flex your obliques, which are the muscles at the sides of your stomach, and twist from side to side while maintaining your balance.

  4. 4

    Perform 15 repetitions to each side.

    With a Medicine Ball

  1. 1

    Stand on the Twist Board with your feet side by side.

  2. 2

    Bend at your knees 45 degrees.

  3. 3

    Hold a medicine ball with both hands against your chest.

  4. 4

    Move the upper body from side to side while holding the ball to your chest. Hold the position for one second at the end of each twist.

  5. 5

    Perform 15 repetitions to each side.
